Would you like to engage your students in the power of language and personal voice? Are you looking for innovative ways to activate group discussion, validate and express the stories and visions of your youth? Do you want an inspiring performance from some of Orlando's hottest teen poets?

Spoken Word Press tailors workshop residencies, performance development and events for schools and community sites across the city.

SCHOOL & COMMUNITY PARTNERS: Work closely with the Spoken Word Press to develop student-centered programs for youth. These programs are facilitated by trained writing mentors and designed to honor and develop young voices. Such partnerships may result in creative writing/spoken word workshops, poetry events, and/or on-site presentations. Writing and spoken word performance workshops are offered during school and after school hours, and may range from one session to a full academic year residency.

PRESENTATIONS and EVENT PRODUCTION: Present the talent of the Spoken Word Press's youth poets at your location to optimize the success of your events. Enhance an existing event with youth spoken word performance, or throw your own youth-focused poetry event. Spoken Word Press can help you achieve your goals. With years of bringing together diverse populations through the common ground of poetry, the Spoken Word Press partners with organizations around the city to coordinate and enhance presentations, panel discussions, open mics and poetry slams.
